I got this to trim tree branches, hardwoods, Mesquite, Acacia etc.. The saw goes through these woods like its cutting butter.
This saw worked right out of the box, I only had to add chain oil(bought locally, not included).
Adding and removing the pole is a snap.

I wish the included scabbard was a brighter color, not black, and had a way to attach it to the saw.

So far I think its a good saw for the money.

I have to put the original review on hold. Today the saw quit running. I was using it off the pole. I checked and cleaned up everything still no go. After checking everything and blowing it out with air I tried again, all I got was a spark from the housing... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected!, April 14, 2011

I was definitely skeptical of an electric chainsaw. We have oak trees in our backyard that I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to get them cut. It is a little heavy when on the pole, so definitely a stronger person needs to do the higher limbs, but it works great! It gets pretty big limbs very easily! Get the oil right away, you will always need to have the oil in the chainsaw, but its like $2 at Home Depot. We have only used it twice so I can't say anything about long-term value, but yep, I love it!

What a sweet little saw. I'm extremely happy with it. I have used mid size gas powered chain saws (30") and was a little concerned about whether it would have enough power. It does and it cuts through tree limbs quickly with little effort - it cut through 6-8" limbs with no problem and would be able to cut 10" limbs (maybe a little larger).

Of course it's heavy on the end of a 8' pole, but I doubt that there are any chain saws with enough power to get the job done that would be much lighter, if any lighter at all. It attaches to the pole easily and removes easily.

I selected this saw over the other available small pole chain saws because it had automatic chain oiling. Having used larger saws with manual oiling, I knew that automatic oiling would be much better. It uses more oil than what I would use with manual oiling - probably a good thing.

The manual chain tensioning works fine. Fairly good description of what to look for to make sure the... Read more
